Directors Darrell & Steven Bell have been employed on a number of well known private and charter yachts such as Stargate, Pelorus, Le Grand Bleu, Christina O, Solemates, Benalex & Happydays. They are assisted by a number of consultant Class I & IV Masters/Chief Engineers collectively with over 100 years of expertise, providing an unrivalled service within the industry.
Although Ariadne Yacht Management was formed in 2006, the Directors family have been associated with ship owning & management for nearly 170 years.
Our provenance can be traced
to 1843, when millionaire entrepreneur Robert Campbell (the Directors Uncle) founded the Missouri River Packet Company, owning and managing large steam ships running the Mississippi between St. Louis and New Orleans.
Notably, in 1859 the company gave author Mark Twain (of Huckleberry Fin & Tom Sawyer fame) his first job as river pilot onboard his ship the ‘A.B. Chambers’. (Twain wrote her off a few weeks later after taking command...but that’s another story!)
Robert died in 1879 leaving an inheritance today valued at over 500 million dollars, but more importantly …a legacy of morals, ethics and adventurous lessons in life which proudly live on in Ariadne Yacht Management’s company values today.
